Whether you’re in the midst, or thinking of, selling or buying a home, December is a great time to take a break and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season! If you live in or around the Savannah/Tybee Island communities, get your family and friends together for a toast to the season. Afterwards, have everyone hop in your or their car(s), van(s) or horse drawn buggy(ies) for a ride around Savannah’s 22 squares, River Street and City Market; and/or drive out to the beach to enjoy the bright lights and colorful decorations!
Savannah’s historic district is sure to please the most discriminating, other neighborhoods in Savannah including Ardsley Park, & Parkside will be ablaze with joyful sights that are sure to please both young and old!
Tybee Island is small, but not lacking in a festive holiday spirit! The little barrier island and its businesses are deck out, beach houses and cottages are all vying for the oohs and aahs of passersby, some say that even the dolphins wear bells and bling for the holidays!
Many faith based special programs are offered throughout the month, it’s a wonderful opportunity to feel the warmth and joy that attending these services offer.
There is still time to take in some more organized, yet casual festivities around the area; following are but a few suggestions:
Stop by the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens and tour six acres of themed garden areas while enjoying holiday music and a beautiful display of seasonal lights. It’s the perfect place of a family photo-op and tickets are only $5.
Pulaski Candle Lantern Tour
Ft. Pulaski commemorates the Confederate Nog party of 1861. The long-lived tradition provides night-time tours of the historic fort by candle light and oil lamps. The cost of the program is $5 per adult. Children 15 and under are free, but reservations must also be made for children. For more information, please visit www.nps.gov/fopu or call (912) 786-5787
Keep the celebration going as you welcome in 2017 on December 31st – with fireworks at the Tybee Pier and Pavilion or on River Street in Savannah!
Wishing you and yours the joys of the season and every happiness for the New Year!
